Welcome to HSI 2017

Message from Organizing Chairman

Dear Colleagues,

It gives me great pleasure to invite you to the 11th Annual Congress of the Hernia Society of India (HSI), a National Chapter of Asia Pacific Hernia Society (APHS) on Friday 11th & Saturday 12th August, 2017 in New Delhi, India.

The theme of the Congress is 'Complex Hernias- Management strategies.' We aim to address various complex aspects of herniology during this congress. The need of the hour is to keep abreast with the latest developments and touch the emerging concepts. The focus will be more on challenging scenarios which most of us face every day and have to take appropriate decisions regarding the management.

Hernia surgery being one of the commonest surgical procedures was always considered as a simple and elegant procedure. In the past two decades, we have seen many advancements in the technology and understanding of hernia that it is now recognized as a superspeciality- 'Herniology'.

HSI 2017 will bring together the recent significant advances in hernia repair in an effort to promote and update surgeons of the surfacing concepts in hernia surgery.

I extend a warm invitation to you to attend this congress and be a part of the new trends in herniology. Apart from the scientific program, we assure that you would enjoy the hospitality and entertainment in the heart of India, Delhi, where ancient and modern blend seamlessly together and tourist attractions are aplenty!

Best wishes

Message from Organizing Co Chairman

Dear Colleagues,

Herniology as a science is evolving each day with changing concepts in the treatment of hernia. Newer techniques of tackling complex abdominal wall hernias have evolved and are being evaluated. Annual congresses of the HSI extend a great forum for discussions and review of different surgical techniques of hernia repair with special emphasis on newer dimensions and also strategies to avoid complications.

It gives us great pleasure to invite you to the 11th Annual Congress of the Hernia Society of India (HSI), a National Chapter of Asia Pacific Hernia Society (APHS) on 11th & 12th August, 2017 in New Delhi, India

The congress theme revolves around 'Complex hernias- Management strategies.' We aim to discuss newer developments in the field of hernia repair, abdominal wall hernias including inguinal hernia. The focus will be more on complex situations which most of us face day to day and have to take a decision regarding management and planning. We will achieve this by creating a forum of active participation by all delegates in interactive sessions based on video stories, clinical scenarios and one to one interaction with the expert faculty apart from didactic sessions like the plenary and keynote lectures. Oral presentation and video presentation will be encouraged to ensure maximal participation.

HSICON 2017 will bring together the recent significant advances in hernia repair in an effort to promote and inform surgeons of the rapidly changing environment of hernia surgery.

I extend a warm invitation to you to come and be a part of this comprehensive scientific agenda addressing hernia repair and its newer dimensions and at the same time enjoy the warmth of our hospitality and entertainment for the delegates and accompanying guests.
